Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

Comfort is the enemy of your dreams. Let’s talk about how to get out of your comfort zone and do what you REALLY want to do. What you want most is on the other side of what you resist most. Your Comfort Zone = Resistance to Change The Formula for Change: D x V + FS > R Your level of Dissatisfaction, multiplied by your clarity of Vision for the future, plus your clarity of First Steps…must be greater than your resistance to change. To get out of your comfort zone, you must take action. Feelings follow action, it never works the other way around. If you wait till you feel like taking action, you may find yourself waiting a lifetime. But when you take action, the feelings follow. Take courageous action - and you will begin to feel confident. Your life doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. You are the boss of you. If you find yourself buying a “treat,” over-indulging in a treat, pouring an extra glass, or staying up late scrolling on your phone, you may be attempting to suffer in comfort. Instead, DO something that fills you up emotionally because it gives you the satisfaction that you are moving toward your goals. My Challenge to You Do something this week that is outside your comfort zone: Go to an event that you wouldn’t normally attend. Ask someone for coffee that you don’t know very well. Pick up the phone and make the call you are hesitating on. Find ways to cut back your bills to free you up to focus on your dream. Push through the discomfort and do the thing. Ditch Excuses - How to Stay Above The Line

On today’s show, we talk about…how to Ditch Excuses and Stay Above The Line. What are the circumstances in your life that you have allowed to create limitations for you? Above the Line, we take Ownership, Accountability and Responsibility for our actions, our attitudes and our words. Our language sounds like… “I choose to...” “I prefer…” “I will…” “I can…” Above the Line, we are Victors and we get Results. We are Empowered. In contrast, Below the Line, we are in Blame, Excuses, Denial, and a Sense of Entitlement. Below the Line, our language sounds like… “I can’t because…” “I have to…” “I must…” “If only…” Below the Line, we are Victims and we have Reasons why we aren’t making the progress we would like to be or intend to. We are Defeated. If you are tired of not reaching your goals, and your full potential, I have a challenge for you… My Challenge to You Take some time this week to journal. Where in your life are you blaming others, circumstances or your own shortcomings? What are the excuses you use for not doing what you intend to do? What are you in denial about? What are you lying to yourself about? What are you avoiding? What patterns are perpetuating that are not serving you? Where do you have a sense of entitlement - like it’s someone else’s job, or it should be happening for you? Now, look at what you wrote and ask yourself: What do you need to take ownership of? What are you going to do about it? Get Support If you want support on your journey to grow your business, register for my masterclass for Women Entrepreneurs. Define Ambition for Yourself - Featuring Mary Lyons

I’m so excited to introduce my guest today, The Wealth Woman, Mary Lyons. Mary helps clients optimize their retirement income by using the financial strategies and products that are right for their unique circumstances. She is in the Top 1% of the industry, nationwide. In this episode, we talk about Mary’s unique approach to planning for retirement by focusing on what you really want your life to look like, how to define ambition for yourself, and how to make sure you’re pursuing the life you desire - not just doing what others expect of you. One of the best ways to get perspective on what you want and to plan your own dreams is to work with someone who will ask you questions that you don’t ask yourself. A few steps to get started: Write down: What do you really want? Then ask yourself: Why do I want this? This is not to justify it to yourself, but to do a gut check on if it’s something you really want vs what you think you should want based on what others expect of you. The things you are exposing yourself to influence what you think you want. Make sure you are not just being influenced into thinking you want something that is not really your dream. Really dig into your “why” behind what you write down as a dream. Mary recommends a book to help you rethink what you want and figure out your own dreams: Wanting by Luke Burgis Our Challenge to You Figure out what your dreams are. If you don’t know, it’s time to start digging. Identify are they really your dreams, or are they someone else’s? Really get clarity on that. Get 1% Better Every Week

GET 1% BETTER EVERY WEEK Starting off the school year, I started feeling stressed and a little overwhelmed. We are not only both entrepreneurs at our house, running multiple businesses each, we homeschool! So, as I spent some time this weekend thinking about everything that needs to be done each week, I made a list of what is overwhelming me. First, I focused on the problem. What is causing friction? Problem: I need to get work done, but I also want to make sure our household runs smoothly and that the kids have what they need for an awesome learning experience. More specifically - what is causing the biggest pinch points in our household responsibilities? Meals. Dishes. Laundry. General cleaning. Monitoring kid’s schoolwork. Then, I asked myself these questions: What can I do to be at least 1% more efficient in managing our home each week? What can I do to make things easier juggling the kid’s school, while growing my business? I asked myself, “What’s the ONE THING I can do to allow me and my partner the time to work how we need to, and take care of the kids and household responsibilities, that would make everything else easier or unnecessary?” Once I clarified what the biggest challenges were - the solution came quickly! I made a checklist of each of the things that I need my kids to do each day independently so they are super clear and have a visual reminder of what to do in what order, and then put an accountability system in place to make sure they are rocking through that checklist each day! It’s working super well, and it got me thinking - what else can I systemize and improve in our lives? Pay Attention to the “Energy Suck” If you’re spending too much time doing things that suck your energy in your household, it’s taking time and energy away from doing things that you need to do in your business. Energy drains in daily activities lead to procrastination on important tasks in your business. My Challenge to You Look for “pinch points” in your daily life and processes. What’s an area of your life that is causing you frustration or dissatisfaction on a daily basis? What are the things that are causing friction in your day, sucking your energy, or keeping you from being as productive as you would like to be? Ask yourself, “what can I systemize to improve that area by 1% this week?” Then, create a system or automate something that will help you be at least 1% better in that area. Make More Money in Your Business

One of the biggest challenges I hear from women entrepreneurs before we get started working together in one of my programs, is they feel like they are working a lot of hours, and are very busy, but are not generating the income they really want from their business. There are 5 Ways to Increase Your Profit in a Business: 1 - Increase Your Lead Generation (Marketing) 2 - Improve Your Conversion Rate (Sales) 3 - Increase Your Average Dollar Sale (Higher ticket deals) 4 - Increase Your Number of Transactions per Client (Repeat business) 5 - Improve Your Profit Margin (Do more with less) If you are not actively working on one of these areas of your business, several hours per week, you are likely not gaining traction or generating the income you want. I call this “wheel-spinning.” What are you procrastinating on? Here’s what I know to be true: what you want most, is on the other side of what you resist most. Chances are, the thing that keeps “falling off your list” each day is the very thing that if you do it, will make the biggest difference in your income. 4 Simple Steps to Make More Money in Your Business Step 1. Look at your list of projects. What projects directly lead to generating income in the business? Hint: Look for projects that bring in new leads, convert leads, allow you to earn more on a transaction, generate repeat business, or improve your profit. Pick one. Step 2. Calculate the amount of income your estimate you will earn from successfully completing that project. How much will it mean to your business when it’s done? Step 3. Divide that number by how many hours it will take you to complete the project. That is your time value per hour working on that project. Is it worth prioritizing? Step 4. Block appointments with yourself on your calendar totaling the number of hours it will take you to complete the project. Label those time blocks of time with not only the project name, but the value of that time. Example: Webinar Creation $1,500/hr. My Challenge to You Pick a project today. Calculate the likely value of your time working on that project, and how much time it will take to complete it. Time block on your calendar all of the hours to get it done.
