Tay Does Life - In Care Don't Stare - Care Day 2023 (FOSTER CARE AWARENESS)

TRIGGER WARNING - MENTAL HEALTH, PHYSICAL HEALTH, ABUSE, ASSAULT, FOSTER CARE Care Day 2023 - A day to celebrate the rights of care experienced young people and children. Summary - I went into foster care when I was four and I had a bumpy ride, I want to share my experience in order to make change in the care system. I feel truly blessed in my life right now but I didn't used to feel this way. I am currently surrounded my family members who do love and care for me, friends who have my back and a relationship where I smile ear to ear every minute but it wasn't always like this. There was a time where I thought ending it all would be the only way out of the path I found myself on. I am so glad that I didn't end it but I am here and I am happy and healthy. That isn't to say I have full moved passed my traumatic past but I am learning to deal with it. This podcast may be triggering for some but without speaking up nothing will change.
