Four points in a three game week: breaking down the good, the bad, and the hat trick of the Timbers wild week

Four points, three games, two birthday goals, one hat trick (FINALLY) - it was a roller coaster week for the Portland Timbers. Sam, Alex, and Luukas chat all about it. Listen on to see which game stands out to the lads, how many of us also "would rather win 5-4 than 1-0", and why despite the flaws we are still legitimately excited for the future of Timbers soccer under Marti Cifuentes.

Timbers draw LAFC, continue rise. Plus: more injury woes and transfer window chat

The Timbers draw LAFC, finishing off a decent three games in six days stretch which continues their steady rise in the standings. Alex and Luukas take to the microphones to react and break it down. What is Marti Cifuentes doing well, and what still needs to improve? Also, with the injuries piling up, what moves should Portland be looking to make as the transfer windows inches closer to closing? All that and more in this episode of Stumptown Radio!

Timbers sweep the Sounders! Recap & reaction to a signature 16 days for Portland

The Portland Timbers finished the regular season sweep of the Seattle Sounders, courtesy of a Brandon Bye winner. The tifo was excellent (and sent Brian Schmetzer into a crashout), the fish was gutted (also sending Brian Schmetzer into a crashout), and the Timbers notched two wins over the Sounders for the first time since 2022. Sam, Alex, Luukas, and Cascadia FC's Jeremy Peterman reacted to an oh so sweet 16 days of dominance over Portland's bitter rivals, and looked ahead to the Leagues Cup and the dawn of the Marti Cifuentes era.

Pipe Mora Forever! Plus: the best three game stretch for the Timbers in 2026

Sam & Alex sit down to pay homage to club legend Felipe Mora after his heroics rescue the Timbers one last time in Mora's final match with the club. Where does Mora sit in the pantheon of greatest Timbers ever? Alex has thoughts. Plus: would you believe that Portland just had their best three game stretch of the entire year? The boys break down what worked, what didn't, and look ahead to the return leg of the rivalry against 5eatt1e.

5eatt1e! The Timbers smash the Sounders, Marti Cifuentes set to join as head coach

The Timbers returned to MLS play in absolute style, with a historic fish gutting in Seattle. Sam, Alex, and Luukas revel in the biggest victory Portland has enjoyed over the Sounders, and discuss what things can translate into the second half of 2026. Plus the boys discuss the now official hiring of Marti Cifuentes. What do we like about the appointment? What gives us pause? All of that and more in the triumphant return of Stumptown Radio!

Emergency Quick Take/Hot Take: Phil Neville OUT as Timbers head coach

On the back of one of the most humiliating and angst-ridden defeats Providence Park has seen, it's happened: Phil Neville is OUT as Portland Timbers head coach. How did it happen? Why did it happen now? What's next for the club? Sam and Alex broke it all down, as the latest era for the Timbers comes to an ignominious close.

Timbers get Messi'd in Miami - is the Phil Neville era coming to an end?

After watching the Porland Timbers get schooled by the GOAT in Miami, the boys take to the mics to begin what in all likelihood will be the start of the eulogy for the Phil Neville era in Portland. Sam, Alex, and Luukas outline how Portland lost in Miami, question substitution and rotation decisions, and lay out just why the current gaffer simply hasn't shown enough to remain the current gaffer. Plus: with just one game left before the World Cup break, what does the future have in store for the Timbers in 2026 and beyond? And stick around to the end to hear some genuine appreciation for a man who is likely losing his job - but loved the city of Portland like few others.

Frustration & Exhaustion in the Rose City - the Timbers dismal 2026 continues

Alternate Title: Sam, Luukas, and Jeremy vent about the Timbers for 45 minutes. The season of woe rolls on for the Portland Timbers, as they turn in perhaps their worst performance of the year against RSL. Luukas & Jeremy join Sam to share what it was like to witness the futility in person, and then the boys dive into the weekend matchup against SKC. What do we need to see from the Timbers this weekend? (Hint: it's not just a win). Is there any way that anything less than a dominant win would be satisfactory? (Hint: nope). Do we want to see the team ever attempt a high press again? (Hint: nooooope). Listen on to find out!

Timbers offensive woes continue - what in the heck is wrong? Debating & creating a Timbers identity w/Jeremy Peterman

Oops, the Timbers suck again! (Or did they suck the entire time...?) After a miserable attacking display in Minnesota, the STR crew drags themselves to the microphones to discuss another dismal loss. Joined by Jeremy Peterman of Cascadia FC, Sam, Alex, and Luukas discuss what in the heck is wrong with this team's attack, and make an attempt to craft a reasonably sustainable identity for this team. All that and more, including: Luukas' favorite word, the end of Alex's patience, Jeremy's tales of vehicular damage from Timbers training, and Sam processing his feelings about Ned Grabavoy & Phil Neville in real time.

The Timbers hand LAFC their first loss in 2026, give Providence Park something to cheer about

The Timbers... finally... won... a game! For the first time since February the pod squad sits down to discuss a Portland Timbers victory. There were emotions. There was VAR intervention. There was Kevin Kelsy making us first pump in the press box. There was much rejoicing. Sam, Alex, and Luukas broke down the win, from Velde's opener to Kelsy's dramatic winner. Then, the gang dives into some of the discourse online around the win, and what the victory might mean (or not mean) for the future of the Timbers. Come for the Costco banter, stay for the emotional processing.
