Is This Still Good?

di Sage Bilderback and Gavin Murray

Interviste comiche Critiche cinematografiche

12 Monkeys (Ft. Vague Zone)

Sage and Gavin were just a pair of time-traveling post-apocalyptic criminals trying to achieve redemption through stopping a plague. But alas, nothing ever goes right with time travel. Who who stop our heroes? Is it 3-pete guest Thomas Churchill, mentally divergent asylum patient? Or is it Daniel Corona and his terrible ponytail? That's right, the vague boys drop by to talk Pitts n Bits. Did Brad deserve an Oscar nomination for this role? What happens when you leave a fake eyeball in too long? Do any other movies have 12 in the title? Check out Vague Zone on (I assume) the internet.

Conan the Barbarian- a libertarian fantasy (Ft. Rodrigo Reyes)

Sage and Gavin are joined by filmmaker and amateur Schwarzenegger biographer Rodrigo Reyes to discuss 1982's Conan the Barbarian, libertarian politics, and what is best in life. How do you watch a VHS in Mexico? How does the sequel compare? Does anyone make a hoodslam reference? 2320 Summary and discussion 10330 Final Judgements 10830 Reboots 12340 Political shit Check out Rodrigo's movies at festivals, including 499 which is apparently in theaters soon.

Encino Man (Ft. Drew Kee)

Sage and Gavin were digging a pool in their backyard to throw the most killer of post prom parties, when their shovel struck a frozen Drew Kee. Now they've got the rudest dude in Highschool for a friend. On this episode we’re going to discuss grindage. How to fill the furnace, pack the cheeks and stuff the gills. What are tasty Nugs? Could you beat a caveman in a fight? Which came first, White Fang or Harry and the Handersons? Spoilers for Bio Dome, Pauly Shore is Dead, and Blast from the Past. Drew does that "Make that Song Now" podcast thing with frequent guest Mark van Aggelen, check it out why don't you

Moulin Rouge! & Silly Little Love Songs (ft. Adam Boyer)

Adam Boyer moved to turn of the century LA to be a penniless screenwriter, and write of love! There was only one problem. Actually two: Gavin and Sage, podcast hosts who fell through his ceiling. Then Adam got the consumption. Also he was in a musical. On this episode we discuss Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge! Are there any good Jukebox Musicals? Just how contagious is the consumption? Is there anything more French than Moulin Rouge!? Find out on a very musical episode of Is This Still Good? Spoilers for most Baz Luhrman projects and The Greatest Showman. Apologies, we usually don't encourage Sage to speak French.

Mortal Kombat '21 (Ft. Mark van Aggelen, again)

We feel somewhat obligated to cover the literal remakes, reboots and legacyquels of movies we cover. It's a new thing, please forgive the sloppy formatting. We'll figure it out by Space Jam (or like ranma 2/3 ) Anyway, Mark is back to describe every scene in the new Mortal Kombat and forget the word "arcana." Spoilers for all things MK, and also for Monster Hunter. You can also check out Mark's podcast, "Make that song now", unless you're a coward.

Mortal Kombat (Ft. Mark van Aggelen)

Sage, Gavin and Mark were all on the boat departing Hong Kong for different reasons, but none of them knew what was really going on. A storm came in, and a smoke dragon appeared in the sky. It had begun. That's right pod babies, It's 1995's Mortal Kombat, the best live action Mortal Kombat movie for at least two days. We also talk a lot about the sequel, MK: Annhilation, and the animated movie MK Legends: Scorpion's Revenge. Is Johnny Cage a good fighter? What is the best video game movie? Are we excited for the new movie, coming out April 26? Thanks to Mark van Aggelen for makin some jokes. Check out Mark's podcast "Make that Song Now!" all across the internet.

A Goofy Movie, Some goofy memories (Ft. Seamus Calder)

Gavin just wanted to go to a party with his crush Roxanne, until Sage pulled him onto an important father-son road trip. Sage just wants to go fishing, and Gavin wants to hijack the trip to go to Los Angeles and see his favorite artist Seamus perform. Bonds will be broken. Only one will survive. That's right Dogs and Boy-dogs, its 1995's A Goofy Movie! Everyone is going to talk about their dads a lot. Does this movie count as part of the Disney Renaissance film? Did Sage's Grandpa own a dog that liked to fight bears? And most importantly, who Owns Pluto? Find out, on another goddam Is This Still Good?

Big Trouble in Little China (ft. Rob Casaletta)

Gavin and Sage follow Wizard and Tour Guide Rob Casaletta on a tour under San Francisco’s China town. Along the way they meet such local cryptids as Lo Pan, a Beholder, Mortal Kombat’s Raiden, and take home their very own commemorative six demon bags! How much exposition is too much exposition? Is Jack Burton a hero or a sidekick? At what age is it ok to show your child Labyrinth? Find out on this episode of Is This Still Good?

3 Ninjas (ft. Scott Wickman)

Sage, Gavin, and Scott just spent the whole summer training in ninjutsu with their Asian grandpa. They'll need every second of that training to do a podcast about 1992's 3 ninjas. Gonna be honest, that one wrote itself. Is this movie racist, or just lazy? How many childhood fights did this movie cause? Stay tuned to find out

"Best Roommate ever" -a song by Sage about his college roommate (ft. Garrett Jutte)

On an extremely intimate episode, Sage's college roommate Garrett returns to talk about the creepy and embarrassing love song Sage wrote and performed for him in 2010. It's like Song Exploder, except you haven't heard the song before. What's it like living with Sage? Should you go to film school? How does everyone feel about having sex with robots? Find out, on a special Valentine's day is This Still Good The original video can be found at https://youtu.be/tHGnIiDsx_U?t=40
