09/22/24 God is Just and Forgives Sinners 1 John 1:9-2:2
09/15/24 The Message From Christ 1 John 1:5-10
Desiring to build our confidence in Christ, John presses us to evaluate our actions to see if they match what we claim.
John grounds the forgiveness of sinner on two attributes of God; His faithfulness and His justness. But, how can God be just and forgive sinners?
Jesus shared a message with the apostles and John shares it with his readers...God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
John opens this little letter by focusing on Christ's deity and humanity, experiencing Christ, and being brought into fellowship with God.
