Consummation by Communion
The mystics tell us our life is a great mystery hidden in God. Our existence and the unfolding of our real Self is actually not in us, but in God. This is why Communion with God is so essential. We will never discover our real being and our potential and capacity without communing with God and digging out our real Life which is hidden deep in His Love for us. This is what Communion does for us: it pulls out of our spirit the deep levels of God's Love for us and the powerful energies of His Life that unfold our truest potential. In this episode of An Ocean of Ontological Light, come join me in an unveiling of where your life truly begins and ends: in Consummation of God's Love through Communion.
Stagione 1
Dissolving into Profundity
There is so much ego involvement in modern spirituality... as if God should cater to our wants, whims and wishes. The truth is that the path into God is a great dissolving as it were. God is not here to prop up and push forward our ego; rather, our ego has a destiny to dissolve and die as we enter into our spirit and understand the true profundity of what it means to live in Union with God. He must increase, and we must decrease. In this episode of An Ocean of Ontological Light I explore the path of Dissolving into Profundity with God.
Ready for Truth
Are you ready for the Truth? Truth never stops calling out to us from the hidden recesses of our spirit. She is always seeking to make her wisdom known. The thing is, we are not always ready for the truth. There needs to be a certain realization of what it takes to encounter, receive and live the truth. In this episode I look at what it means to be ready for the truth.
Orbit of Being - Episode #20
Our lives are always drawn to something. As heavenly bodies orbit around larger bodies with larger mass and gravity (eg. the moon around the earth), so our soul will tend to gravitate to and orbit around what we have given "weight" and significance to in our life. God's design is that our life and living orbit around His Son. In this episode of An Ocean of Ontological Light we see that Freedom is found in learning to keep the orbit our being around God alone.
The Positive and Negative Way
Christian mystics have often seen two seemingly opposite ways of approach to experiencing God. One way is via positiva (the positive way) and via negativa (the negative way). in the former, we reduce ourselves to nothing so that God fills all and all; in the latter way, we fill ourselves up with God until noting of self is left. Both ways lead to the same end: where God is all in all. In this Episode of An Ocean of Ontological Light I explore these two mystical perspectives to help you get a handle on them.
Finding Real Practice
"What is the best practice for spiritual awakening?" It is a question I am often asked. In this episode I explore the heart of good spiritual practice: one that isn't just another ego-driven "self-help" exercise, but actually helps us touch what is authentic in us and living in God.
A Perfect Freedom
"Free indeed" is what Jesus promised us. God calls us to His own Freedom. What does freedom look like? If we are not free in our being, then everything we do is shrouded in fear and restriction. Freedom is an inward job: it is the removal of all our interior shadows by the Light of God's Love. In this episode, I look into the basis of ontological freedom.
Sacred Nonsense
Our life is both on an absolute level with God and a very relative level with the world; our lives are supernatural and natural all at once. In this episode of An Ocean of Ontological Light I discuss the balance between the secular and sacred and conclude that life is about the beauty of sacred nonsense.
Ocean of Ontological Light - #15 Trembling Delight
We don't see the world as it is, but we see the world -- and everything else -- as we are. How we see ourselves colours everything we do. It is the lens through which we perceive the world. In our spiritual path, God can open our eyes so see our true nature and life, as it subsists in Him, and through this vision we live a life of "trembling delight". Religion would have us cower from God in trembling fear, but Love brings us into the Trembling Delight of a God Who is thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying.
Rescued Awareness
The world keeps us occupied and distracted. There is an all out assault upon our attention. Spirituality is about awakening and elevating awareness -- awareness to our inner being, our spirit and to God. In this episode of An Ocean of Ontological Light, I discuss how to rescue our awareness. and return it to God.
