In episode 06 of the Sheffield's Hidden Gems podcast, Children's Author and Storyteller Maxine Lewis talks about a significant personal achievement as she adjusted to the disruption caused by the covid-19 pandemic that prevented her to continue work as a supply teacher specialising in Special Needs Education. That achievement was the writing and publishing of her first children's book.

Building on her decades of experience as a teacher, parent and foster parent, Maxine brought a fresh perspective to the widely-known fairy tale, 'Little Red Riding Hood'. Since publishing the book and launching her business 'Inspiring Kids Books', Maxine's first children's book and supporting resources have reached audiences across the UK as well as in the USA, Canada and Australia.
