31: Mindset Reset
In this quick tip episode of SGS, Jeremy talks about what he calls Mindset Reset. Many times people try to do too much too quick, and as a result, they don't accomplish their goal or the task they are working on. Then people get discouraged, make excuses, and quit. For example, are you one of the 88% of people who have quit a New Year's Resolution in the first few weeks? If not, keep doing what you are doing! However, if you have a tendency of starting things and not completing them, it's time to try something different. Instead of trying to do it all at once, try starting small. Start out with baby steps. Move forward by making incremental progress. Jeremy likes to think about the analogy of taking one bite at a time. Think about eating an apple. You don’t eat an apple in one bit, rather, you take one bite of an apple at a time. Then you rotate it, and take another bite. One of the ways Jeremy likes to celebrate MLK Day is by reviewing quotes from Martin Luther King, Jr. This year, this quote from MLK hit home with Jeremy. "If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward." 30: How to Deal with Toxic People
In this episode, Jeremy shares some tips on how you can deal with difficult people. Toxic people are those who constantly complain, blame, make excuses, or flat out lie. They are always trying to be the center of attention and crowd pleasers. They thrive on trying to elevate themselves by minimizing or manipulating others. They thrive on drama and if there is no drama, they try to create it. Jeremy talks about how his Don't Sweat It mentality can help when dealing with toxic people. He also shares some ideas on how to respectfully remove yourself from toxic situations, including going outside to get some fresh air, going for a walk or working out, listening to some music, or taking a few minutes to pray or do some breathing exercises. Dealing with toxic people can be tough. They can bring you down to their level. They can drain you mentally and even physically. They can make you feel miserable. If you let toxic people get the best of you, they will, and they will enjoy every minute of it. But on the flip side, when you learn to deal with toxic people, it can change your life for the positive. Make today your day. 29: Don't Sweat It
This is a Quick Tip Episode of Scrap Guy Solutions where Jeremy shares his "Don't Sweat It Mentality." There are many things in life that we can control and many more that we can’t. But often times, we get caught up on the things we can’t control. Too often, we let the things we can’t control drag us down and mess with our minds. Jeremy's Don't Sweat It Mentality will help you work through those situations that are out of your control. Instead of wasting your mental and emotional, and often times physical, juice on things you can’t control, Don’t Sweat It. Instead, save that fuel to help you be the best you can be. Redirect that negative energy to fuel to help you make things happen. You can get in touch with Jeremy at: ScrapGuySolutions@gmail.com Make today your day. 25: We can all do better
It’s been a difficult few months in our country when it comes to violence, especially political violence. And it’s truly unfortunate because we are better than this. There have been far too many horrific events in our country where people have resorted to violence resulting in the loss of innocent life, including right here in Minnesota. It’s time for us all to do better. The hate and especially the violence needs to stop. It doesn’t matter if it’s political violence, a shooting at a school, a place of worship, or a youth sporting event. It doesn’t matter if it’s racism or antisemitism. We are better than this. Killing innocent people is not acceptable and it’s certainly not something that should be celebrated. Get in touch with Jeremy: ScrapGuySolutioins@gmail.com Make today your day.
