Radio Mystery Theater The Ghost Grey Bat Episode 1176

Original Airdate: March 25, 1981 Episode 1176 "The Ghost Grey Bat" Written by Ian Martin, Directed by Himan Brown, Host: E.G. Marshall Ever read this sort of advertisement in the real estate section of the newspaper or their personal columns of a magazine? Young Austrian couple, no children, no pets, would like to exchange their gemütlich alpine chalet for New York apartment two to three months. Please write, etc., etc., etc. If you had read that, would you be tempted to try it? Don't. It could work out nicely, but then again... The advertisement I began to read to you was the actual one that Alec and Moira Grant answered. Moira was interested because Alec was exhausted from overwork and she felt he needed a long vacation. Alec... because they had recently been married and so far had been denied a honeymoon. Outside of these two small concerns, they had nothing in the world to worry them. They were blissfully happy. The gods were good to them. How fortunate. Except it was Byron who said, whom the gods love, die young. Starring: Don Scardino, Jennifer Harmon, Robert Dryden, Joan Shay

Radio Mystery Theater The Judge's House 1245

Adaptation of a story by one of the Masters of Horror, Bram Stoker, Author of the classic "Dracula" Original Airdate: September 25, 1981 Episode 1245 "The Judge's House" Original Story by Bram Stoker Adapted by George Lowther Directed by Himan Brown Host: E.G. Marshall Two writers rent a house in the English countryside despite the warning of the local villagers that the house is haunted by the spirit of an infamous hanging judge. As two young scholars work on their research, they encounter a giant rat and a malevolent spirit bent on driving them out and harboring a terrible secret. Enter our mansion of mystery. And it's mystery we have in store for you today in a house nestled in the pleasant English countryside. The house we are to visit is not a brooding castle, nor is it set on one of those windy and cheerless moors that Britain is so famous for. It's a modest two-story cottage, high on a rise that overlooks the tiny hamlet of Salford below. The residents of the town give it a wide berth. Even though no one has lived in it for more than two years, and two young men who rented it discovered why. Picturesque English country houses have been immortalized in paintings and photographs, particularly in travel posters luring visitors to jolly old England. Often, though, a house that looks so quaint from the outside can harbor strange vibrations inside, particularly when they take on the characteristics of the owner. Such was the judge's house. But we'll arrive there shortly. Let Mark Mason, a young American in England, tell us what happened. Starring: Gordon Gould, Lloyd Battista, Robert Dryden
