Training and Education: Build One Practical Lesson with AI Safely

IA
AI can write a whole training module in seconds, but a confident answer is not always a correct one. In this episode of the RTO AI Academy podcast, we walk through the Training and Education course, a practical, step-by-step way for Australian trainers and educators to use AI without risking learner privacy or compliance. You start with one small, fictional training topic and one observable skill, then build a professional practice portfolio across seven lessons: Adult learning and practical training Training plans and learning pathways PowerPoint slides and learning resources Facilitation and learner engagement Foundation skills and LLN support Assessment and feedback Responsible AI in training and education We also cover the safety rules (fictional information only, never real learner records), why you keep your drafts as evidence, the 14-day challenge, and how to request your certificate. This is non-accredited professional learning. It is not a nationally recognised qualification or a statement of attainment. Your First Safe AI Workflow: Draft, Check, Decide

IA
If bringing AI into your daily work feels overwhelming, this episode gives you one small, safe win from start to finish. Berry Salem walks through a complete first AI task for educators, trainers, assessors and workplace professionals. No theory dump and no hype. You pick one low-risk job, write a prompt that actually works, check the result properly, then note the one change you will make next time. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN How to choose a first task that cannot hurt you. Low-risk and repetitive, such as a welcome email for a new cohort or a bullet point agenda for a session. Not compliance mapping, not grading, and never anything with real learner details. Why starting big is the most common first mistake. Asking AI to build a whole unit plan on day one introduces too many variables and too much compliance risk. Small keeps the variables low and the safety high. The three-part prompt formula: goal, context, constraints. Tell it what to produce, tell it who the audience is, then set the rules, including tone and Australian English spelling. The three-point check before you use anything. Is it accurate? Is it safe? Does it sound like you? Editing that first draft heavily is not failure, it is the normal professional workflow. How to close the loop. Record one concrete improvement for next time, so the next prompt is better than this one. BEFORE YOU START Three requirements: an approved AI tool, no private learner data, and five minutes of uninterrupted time. CHAPTERS 00:00 Your first safe AI win 00:21 Three requirements before you start 00:53 Step one, choose a low-risk task 01:24 The mistake: starting too big 02:03 Step two, write the prompt 02:14 The formula: goal, context, constraints 02:55 Vague prompts and what they cost you 03:20 Step three, you are the reviewer 03:39 The three-point check 04:00 Record one improvement for next time 04:29 What you just completed WHO THIS IS FOR Educators, trainers, assessors, learning designers and workplace professionals who want to use AI with care.
