Follow the Leader - Part 2

Speaker: Pastor Jeremiah

Following Jesus means allowing His love to shape our lives and lead us toward others. In Part 2 of Follow the Leader, Pastor Jeremiah explores how Jesus prepared for ministry through humility, obedience, fasting, and dependence on the Father.

Beginning with the commands to love God and love our neighbor, the message challenges believers to move beyond a faith centered only on personal behavior. Jesus calls His followers to make disciples. Through His baptism, wilderness testing, and invitation to become fishers of people, we see a pattern of surrender, prayer, repentance, and purpose.

EPISODE ROADMAP

00:42 - Love God, love people. Christlike leadership begins with wholehearted love for God that changes how we see and treat others.

04:43 - Called to make disciples. Following Jesus includes helping others know Him, not simply maintaining a good reputation.

08:29 - Preparation through obedience. Jesus' baptism becomes an example of humility and responding to the Father's direction.

11:23 - Walking in new life. Baptism points to leaving the old life behind and surrendering desires that compete with obedience.

14:40 - Time alone with God. Jesus' fasting introduces a challenge to prioritize prayer and depend on the Holy Spirit rather than strategy alone.

24:38 - Resisting temptation. Jesus answers the devil with Scripture, highlighting the need for God's Word and persistent prayer.

29:06 - Repentance changes direction. The message calls for a change of mind, heart, and actions rather than making room for recurring compromise.

33:58 - Receive a vision beyond yourself. Jesus calls His disciples to reach others, giving purpose to their relationship with Him.

39:57 - Be led by the Spirit. Romans 8 frames the closing invitation to surrender, renew our priorities, and pray for our families and community.
