But then, He tells a parable about a farmer scattering seed. It seems simple—maybe too simple. Yet this story holds profound truth. In it, Jesus reveals that the real difference between those who receive His Word and those who don’t comes down to one thing: the condition of the heart. The seed is always the same—the life-giving Word of God—but the soil varies.

Jesus names four types of soil: the path, the rocky ground, the thorny ground, and the good soil. Some hearts are too hard, too shallow, or too divided for the Word to take root.
