Episode 3 of the 'Lines Out' podcast takes us all the way to Ocean City Maryland, home to the largest billfish tournament in the world - The White Marlin Open. 334 boats signed up to chase a 9.9 million dollar purse in the white marlin capital of the world! This was a bucket list stop for us on our 2026 summer marlin tour to visit some of the most popular marlin tournaments from the gulf to the Atlantic coast. WIth our flights booked, we figured, what better place to host an episode of Lines Out than right after lines out in the White Marlin Open. Ocean City and Sunset Marina are home to the Bar South, a well known team on the billfish circuit. Partners Rob Gothier and Rudy Espinosa have been fishing the Quest for the Crest and a number of other marlin tournaments together with Captain Raul Gonzalez, Michelle Espinosa and the rest of the crew for many years. Bar South is arguably the most decorated team across live bait and dead bait billfish tournaments around the globe. Our rap session with Rob, Rudy and Captain Raul dives into a lot of great topics whether your passion is flying kites, pulling baits or just passionate about fishing!
