Minisode 6 - Spider-Man: No Way Home Spoiler Discussion (w/ Mike, Chris, and Brian)

Hello and welcome back to Raters of the Lost Arts! Kay is once again joined by her friends Mike and Chris (in addition to Kay's very own brother Brian!) to discuss their thoughts on Spider-Man: No Way Home. This episode features Spoilers! Cursing! Bits! More long pauses after mentioning horrendous events in US history! Saying "we'll get to that" and never getting to it! Don't worry, this episode isn't obnoxiously long. It's just the obnoxious part. Stagione 1

Episode 14 - Season One Finale

Hello and welcome to Raters of the Lost Arts! In our first "season" finale, Craig and Kay break down their favorite TV shows, movies, and albums that they've enjoyed so far this year (regardless of when they actually were released). This is also the first episode that has been recorded via simultaneous Zoom call, so apologies for any audio wonkiness (Craig was on a rooftop in Nashville). We're so fortunate and grateful that you have joined us and listened to our podcast this year, whether you know us personally or not. We will see you in September! #GWAGM Follow us on Twitter and Instagram - @ratersofthepod Contact - ratersofthepod@gmail.com Be well! Minisode 5 - "Obsessed with the 'Cest" (w/ Bella)

Hello and welcome back to the last minisode of the season! Bella joined me (AKA Kay) in rejoicing in the excitement that is the official start to MCU Phase 4 as we discussed WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and Black Widow. Are you joining us in our fight to gatekeep Florence Pugh from the weird fanboys and the campaign to get Squirrel Girl in the MCU (this is being spearheaded by Kay and Bella BTW, don't let anyone tell you otherwise). Also, it's cool to know that all of our fanfic is canon now because of the multiverse. LONG LIVE KANG THE CONQUEROR! (kidding...maybe?).

Episode 13 - "I Hate to Call a White Man a Genius, But..."

Hello and welcome back to Raters of the Lost Arts! Before delving into the topic at hand, Kay and Craig discuss Craig's pending move and his subsequent nostalgia for his coming-of-age on Long Island. Shed a tear, besties! They also discuss Britney Spear's public discussion of her conservatorship and feel DISGUSTED about how she and so many other women are being treated by the law. And then onto the subject of this episode, Mr. Bo Burnham! Kay goes into a bit of his professional history and she and Craig discuss his work and show reverence for what he has given us over the years. Episode 12 - "Blasphemy in the Theater"

Hi gay and welcome back to Raters of the Lost Arts! This episode, in honor of pride month, Kay and Craig have decided to rank their top 5 queer films, but not without first discussing Rachel Zegler, Lorde, and the history of queer cinema (thanks Craig!). Is a film a queer film because you're queer and you like it? We think so. Also, what does Craig have against Michelle Williams? Episode 11 - "How About You Stan a Job"

Hello and welcome back to Raters of the Lost Arts! This week, we're talking all about unsolved crimes in honor of Buzzfeed Unsolved entering its final seasons starting June 18th. While we'll miss our beloved ghoul boys, they are leaving a lot of good content in their wake. Kay recalls the famous disappearance of D.B. Cooper while Craig goes into the more unknown unsolved case of the Austin yogurt shop murders (CW for that portion starts at around 38 minutes and ends around the 1:10:30 mark!!). Is Loki Laufeyson actually behind those famous DB Cooper wrap-around sunglasses? Was the Austin police department covering up suspects or were they plain incompetent? These cases still remain...unsolved. Shoutout to Ryan Bergara (@ryansbergara) and Shane Madej (@shanemadej) of Buzzfeed Unsolved and Watcher (@wearewatcher)! Episode 10 - "Shmes Shmis"

In this episode, Kay and Craig catch the besties up on what they've been doing this May 2021 and Kay humbles film majors by dubbing them "movie majors". Then, into the meat and potatoes, Kay explores (albeit briefly) the history of the movie musical as well as the phenomenon (and gimmick) of the roadshow. For the main segment, Kay and Craig rank their top 5 favorite movie musicals and get heated discussing Willy Wonka and his choice for a successor. Minisode 4 - "IT'S NOT 4 U"

Welcome back to Raters of the Lost Arts! In this rather-long minisode, Kay and Craig delve into the debut album of Ms. Swift Jr.-- that is, Olivia Rodrigo's "SOUR". Kay gets a little tipsy and has to deal with her buzzing microphone (we really need new ones) while Craig gets a little sentimental. What did you think of the album? Episode 9 - This Podcast Radiates Comfort

Pull up a chair, put on a blanket and your coziest PJs and grab a warm beverage and a snack because this week on Raters of the Lost Arts, we're talking comfort films. Comfort films are extremely subjective, so this week we aren't doing a ranking as much as we are an exploration of different kinds of films that bring us comfort (specific sequels, childhood favorites, animated films, etc.). Share your favorite comfort films with us on our Twitter and Instagram @ratersofthepod!! Contact: ratersofthepod@gmail.com

Minisode 3 - "5,000 Fingers of Dr. T"

Welcome to a very special Raters of the Lost Arts minisode where we finally discuss an actual "lost art"-- Dr. Seuss's 1958 film "5,000 Fingers of Dr. T". This phantasmagoria and quasi-German Expressionist family film follows protagonist Bart who "dreams himself into a fantasy world ruled by a diabolical piano teacher enslaving children to practice piano forever". We very much enjoyed this movie and discuss some of the fun behind-the-scenes facts about it as well as our interpretations. Strap in, it's about to get weird.
