Que Viva La Música, #108, 5-2-26

Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 we paid tribute to legends Ray Barretto and Dave Valentín. We also spoke with our longtime Que Viva La Música family member and Mundo Salsa Radio colleague Richie Bertrán about his upcoming May 6th, 12-1:30 pm ET return to MSR, with his show Echando Palante. Plus, we spoke with Son Del Monte's bandleader Manny Rivera and featured a live track by his band recorded at the previous weekend's Hostos Community College concert.

Celebrated Latin music radio program Que Viva La Música, created decades ago by Vicki Solá, now streams worldwide direct from the NYC-metro area on Mundo Salsa Radio (mundosalsaradio.com) Saturday afternoons from 1-6 pm (ET). Listen from any mobile device, computer, or tablet as we bring you the Salsa, Latin Jazz, and Charanga of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
