Enter the Pathos Region. Seven strangers — Terry, Frranki, Xeo, Emrys, Hana, Lua, and Joel — converged at a Sawsbucks coffee shop in the bustling jungle-edged city of Museport, united under the banner of the Trailblazers. Their arrivals were anything but smooth: Xeo was detained for nearly two hours by port security over his kunai before being released with an ominous warning, Emrys shuffled in looking so nervous he alarmed other patrons, Hana and Lua were held up in customs behind a trainer smuggling Electrodes, and Joel spent most of the afternoon recovering from seasickness in the bathroom — though he rallied enough to share his birthday care package of wine, cider, and charcuterie with the group. A notable moment came when Xeo produced a strange, rocking Pokémon egg of classified origin, which Terry estimated would hatch within five days and offered to help keep warm. After sorting through a massive supply pallet from the Trailblazers — including Pokéballs, potions, rations, and an envelope of emergency funds entrusted to Joel — the group relocated to a cantina called Shuckles Buckle, where they began to bond over drinks and conversation, and gathered intel about the dangerous road ahead, including flooded lowland trails and a notoriously ill-tempered Feraligatr.
The evening took a more adventurous turn as the group fanned out across Museport to catch wild Pokémon. Terry captured a Cutiefly after a chaotic attempt that left Frranki paralyzed by spores and a Pokéball lost to the wind. Emrys claimed a remarkable, Slaking-blooded Snubbull he named Truancy, Frranki spun a Togedemaru into his roster, and Xeo carefully selected a healthy Solosis — naming it Gluttony — from a group drifting above the rooftops. Joel's night in the jungle brush went poorly: he accidentally over-powered a Pinsir with his Numel's fire attack, then carried the charred, unconscious bug Pokémon to the Pokémon Center himself, earning a bewildered look from the nurse on duty. The group closed out the night making plans to meet senior Trailblazer Morgan Sharp at eight the next morning, with the Pathos wilderness waiting just beyond the city's edge.
