This passage of scripture has an overarching phrase in 9:11, “You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way…” When Paul talks about giving, he brings it into the category of the graces of God; often considered to be the last grace.

The chief end of man is not compliance to God’s law. It’s to glorify and enjoy God; it has to do with communion. The Christian life is about communing with the Father. It is the enjoyment of a real, interactive, loving relationship with God.

Giving isn’t ultimately about money.
