The cross reveals to us how a heart is changed. The answers to all our questions on how a heart is changed, how one is justified, and how one is sanctified have directly to do with the glory of the cross of Christ. Our affections change when we look at Christ on the cross and consider His love for us.

The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. This was also Jesus’ purpose. The grand purpose of God is His own glory. Can it be that the humble emptying of Christ in giving Himself as an atonement for sin is in fact also His glory?
