Psalm 53

PSALM 53

For the director of music. According to mahalath. A maskil of David.

'The fool says in his heart,

"There is no God."

They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;

there is no one who does good.

2God looks down from heaven on all mankind

to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.

1. Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.
2. Do all these evildoers know nothing?

They devour my people as though eating bread;

they never call on God.

PRAYING

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 53

The universal and pervasive presence of evil can make us feel over-whelmed. God sees and knows that people are not good in themselves and that those who are filled with iniquity attack those who fear God.

Ask God for the faith and hope to trust him and to wait for him. God ultimately will scatter evil, so we can trust that he can overcome it for us.
