Note sull'episodio
Join us as Denise McDonald reflects on a profound spiritual experience in the ‘Step 1 Denise Lived Experience Series’. In this episode, Denise shares how, after a powerful moment of clarity, she saw shooting stars on her way home—signs she interpreted as God’s presence. This experience opened her eyes to the reality that there truly was something greater at work in her life. In the midst of this awakening, her once black-and-white world started to come alive with color. Birds she hadn’t noticed before were singing, and life itself began to return.
Step 1 of Alcoholics Anonymous is about acknowledging our powerlessness and recognizing that a Higher Power can restore us to sanity. Denise’s story illustrates the beauty of spiritual awakening, where the world around her, once dull and lifeless, gradually came back to life. Her journey reminds us that recovery is not just about staying sober but about rediscovering the joy and vibrancy of life.
