Note sull'episodio
Join Joe McDonald as he reads and expands on the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, offering deeper understanding and practical advice for those on their recovery journey. In this session on Step 12 AA, Joe emphasizes the importance of genuine experience in sharing the 12-step message.
“So how would I do that? What would the first step of me telling them how I made a self-appraisal be? Probably having made a self-appraisal, wouldn’t it? I can’t talk to them about the spiritual awakening promised as the result of these steps unless I have experienced the spiritual awakening. That doesn’t mean you can’t experience a spiritual awakening not as a result of these steps and talk about it all you want, but don’t portray yourself as a 12-stepper then. Right? Does it make sense? I know people get radically delivered; I meet them all the time. But stay out of our 12-step room.”
Joe discusses how living the steps authentically is crucial to being able to effectively share the message with others. He highlights the importance of having had a true spiritual awakening to guide others through the steps with integrity.
