Join Joe McDonald as he reads from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, exploring the concept of truth as the key to the future and the importance of gaining a new perspective in recovery. Joe discusses how the truth revealed in our inventory holds the key to our future.
“So we turn back to the list for it held the key to the future. So what’s the key to the future? This is a search for the truth, so the truth is the key. That makes sense, that should resonate well with you, those of you who are students of biblical teaching as well, shouldn’t offend anybody. We were prepared to look at it from an entirely different angle. If lack of perspective is my problem, then a different angle is a portion of the solution. Correct? All right, so we began to see that the world and its people really dominated us. How many of you got yourself all the way up to where you were in charge of something and found out how little power you had to make people do what you wanted them to do?”
Joe emphasizes the importance of truth and perspective in the recovery journey. This session highlights the necessity of reevaluating our understanding of power and control to achieve lasting sobriety and personal growth.
