AA’s promises said I was going to lose my fear of economic insecurity. I was going to lose my fears of today, tomorrow, the year after. I was going to lose all these things that kept me in bondage. That’s what it said. It didn’t say I wasn’t going to live in poverty for 15 years. Guess what I outgrew in those 15 years ...
