Join Joe McDonald as he reads from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, diving into the real power needed in recovery—not just the power to avoid picking up, but the power to live a fulfilling life. Reflecting on the deeper purpose of recovery, Joe emphasizes the significance of seeking a higher power to transform our lives.
“Power to not pick up? It takes no power to not pick up. Wayne shows them at the clinic he works, ‘Don’t pick that up.’ How much power did that take? None. So we’re not seeking power to not pick up. We’re seeking power to live, which is not that hard for me to admit I don’t have of myself, is it?”
Joe’s discussion sheds light on the true purpose of recovery and the importance of seeking a higher power to achieve a meaningful life. This session focuses on the beginning of Step 4, guiding viewers through the process of personal inventory and spiritual awakening.
