Join Joe McDonald as he reads from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, diving into Step 2 AA and exploring the importance of looking beyond outward appearances to find deeper truths. Reflecting on the illusions and misconceptions we often encounter, Joe emphasizes the need for honest introspection and understanding.
In this session, Joe discusses the importance of not taking things at face value. “Do you conclude that somebody just shows you a picture on the internet of a unicorn or Bigfoot or whatever? You may or may not assume that it’s Bigfoot season in Seattle based on the picture you saw. I don’t want to offend any Bigfoot aficionados, and I’m sure I have my share of unicorn fans too. So it’s being constantly revealed as mankind studies the material world that outward appearances are not inward reality at all.”
Joe’s discussion sheds light on the importance of seeking deeper truths and understanding beyond surface-level appearances. This session emphasizes the transformative power of acknowledging a higher power and the support found within recovery communities.
