Al's Cafe

Once you’ve been there, you’ll understand why Al’s is not just a café, it’s a man. A retired LA cop operated a small town diner in Sweetwater, Texas for many years serving friends of each and every kind.

Parita Creek

She'll never run down the banks again. She'll never dig in the sand. A mother saves her puppies and they will always remember her and search for her on the banks of Parita Creek.

Coley, Coley

Pappaw was the name we called him by. He worked the earth and he trusted in the sky. Robert Coleman Hunt was my granddad who lived to the age of 98. He was a cotton farmer who ate eggs & bacon and drank bottled coke every day. And....he's still alive (in our hearts and in our minds).

There'd be good times and bad , happy and sad times , but at no time did my parents lose their love. They set the bar and left a legacy of love for their children and grand children after 67 years together. Thanks Pappaw and Mammaw.

Tre, I'm Just One Thought Away

Tre Austin Mayes is the third child of my third child. We are simpatico throughout eternity. Just reach out and call my name at any time. I will be there without delay.

Miss Paisley

I always knew that you would come around, so, I saved a corner of my heart for you. Paisley June Mayes is the first child of my oldest son and she is a beautifully woven fabric . Yes, I always held on to the possibility of Miss Paisley.

Kenneth Is My Grandson

He's a big boy and he's got his great Pappaw's name. I see my son when looking in his eyes. Yes, Kenneth is my first grandson and so, he has baseball in his veins. Game on!

Little Ladybug (ELLA JUNE)

Ella crawled right into my life from the moment I first saw her chipmunk cheeks. They reminded me of her mother, my oldest child, Elizabeth and a more beautiful, athletic and strong willed child there has never been. Pops needs a hug!

Without You

All that I am now, I owe to Genevieve Garcia Mayes. She gives me the strength to follow through. For 44 years, we have shared a beautiful life. Each day is a blessing and we thank God for our journey together.

Analia

Analia, my first grandchild, is beautiful beyond description. Every grandparent remembers when they were told the news. It changes everything. And, yes, you do count the toes!
