1 John - Week 1: Is Your Joy Complete? // 1 John 1:1-2:2

Today Pastor Todd begins a new sermon series in the Book of 1 John. Today, Pastor Todd will take a look at 1 John 1:1-2:2 and ask the question "Is Your Joy Complete?" Pastor Todd explains that if we look to external "things" as our source of joy, then our joy will be temporary at best. However, if we keep our eyes on Christ and realize that true joy comes from Him, then we can indeed say "the joy of the Lord is my strength!" Join us as Pastor Todd continues the 2 Peter sermon series and takes a look at 2 Peter 2:1-10. In today's text, Peter exposes the false teachers. Pastor Todd reminds us today that hearers of the preached word have the responsibility to take what they hear and compare it directly to God's Word. Unfortunately, false teachers are still on the scene today. In today's society, many people today seem willing to entertain someone who preaches "what they like to hear." Pastor Todd reminds us to remember that God's Word is true from cover to cover. It has not changed, nor will it change.

2 Peter - Week 1: Precious and Very Great Promises // 2 Peter 1:1-11

Join us as Pastor Todd begins a new sermon series - a six week series that will take us through the book of 2 Peter. Today's text was 2 Peter 1:1-11. Pastor Todd explained that Peter had three primary purposes when he wrote this letter that we now know as the book of 2 Peter. One of the purposes was to tell us about the dangers of false teachers. Another purpose was to remind us that our faith in Jesus Christ should never become stale. Finally, Peter wrote to encourage believers and to remind them that Jesus is indeed coming back again! In this first sermon of this series, we took a look at some characteristics that are to be on display in the life of each true follower of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter - Week 8: The Importance of Walking in Humility // 1 Peter 5:1-14

Join us for today’s podcast as Pastor Todd concludes the 1 Peter sermon series with the 8th and final sermon in this series. Today’s text is 1 Peter 5:1-14. Throughout this sermon series, we've seen that if we are truly in Christ, we have a Living Hope. We've seen in God’s Word that for believers, submission is required on our part (to authorities and in marriage - unless you are being asked to do something that contradicts God's Word). Most recently, we've seen that true Christians will indeed suffer for the sake of righteousness. In this final sermon, we see what God's Word says about service to Him - how we are expected to serve all of the time, but especially when it is difficult. We will see the great importance of walking in humility.

1 Peter - Week 7: Don't Be Surprised When Suffering Comes // 1 Peter 4:1-19

In this week’s sermon, Pastor Todd continues the 1 Peter series and preaches from 1 Peter 4:1-19, We learn not to be surprised by suffering, but to expect it as part of the Christian journey. Peter encourages believers to view suffering as a way to refine our faith and bear witness to God's grace in a fallen world. Through trials, we are called to persevere, live according to God's will, and rejoice in the hope that our suffering is temporary, while our reward is eternal.

1 Peter - Week 6: Suffering for the Sake of Righteousness // 1 Peter 3:13-22

Join us as Pastor Todd continues the 1 Peter sermon series and takes a look a 1 Peter 3:13-22. The title of today's sermon is "Suffering for the Sake of Righteousness." When we remember that the overall theme of the book of 1 Peter is "Believers should follow the example of Jesus Christ by joyfully enduring persecution," we understand that there will be times that believers will suffer for the sake of righteousness. Today Pastor Todd encourages us to look to the cross and to remember the extreme sacrifice that Christ made for us. When we look to the cross, it helps to put our suffering in the proper prospective.
