Dale is a Paranormal Author, Researcher, Storyteller of NL Folklore,Culture & Heritage, Dale is owner of "The St. John's Haunted Hike". He has BSc in anthropology from Trent University and a MA of Folklore at MUN-Memorial University of Newfoundland. Dale is the executive director of Heritage NL. Dale also appeared in the Fibe TV1 Grind Mind TV series "The Hag" (Directed by Shane Mills). We discuss "The Newfoundland Nightmare The Hag". Dale discusses sleep paralysis in comparison to "The Old Hag" in Newfoundland culture. We talk about the Hag crossover in different cultures such as Ireland. Dale discusses the word Mare in relation to nightmares which is German for pressing down. He discusses other cultures like Japan. Talks about an NL legend in Conception Bay, Brigus, Bay Roberts area about a phantom drummer under a window to indicate someone is going to pass. similar to an Irish legend. He talks about Pipers Hole in Swift Current playing Pipes similar to a Scottish legend. Dale discusses Fairy, fae, pixie stories in relation to Ireland and England. Dale talks about horses and braiding or putting knots in the horses hair. Mikmaq indigenous also talks about fairies doing the same thing. We talk about Military History near The Rooms and Military Road. One of the soldiers haunts in front of the governor's house in 1800s garb. We talk about Conception Bay, and Shell Bird Island face in the rocks-Pirate Folklore and ghosts, and treasures hidden with headless pirates. to protect the booty. We talk about the Southern shore pirate legends way down into New England. I ask about the Military History related to world war I and II with soldiers seen in uniforms the same day they passed away abroad. He discusses merchant marine ghost appearances with water. We discuss the significance of Remembrance Day and Veteran's Day in 2023.
