Al Crumpton notes that the season of Advent is the time to ask ourselves why we are are eager, and whether our sense of anticipation lines up with God's intentions for us. When the world is eager to fast-forward to December twenty-fifth, the message of Advent is to slow down, wait, watch, and renew our awareness of God's presence.
