A Vulnerable Guide to Love
Welcome Back to Our Favorite Bible Stories Podcast! This episode is all about LOVE (cue Keyshia Cole). It is also centered on one of the most controversial and skipped chapters of the Bible- Song of Songs. Listen, I get it! I used to be that person too. But, my lovely guest has turned me into a believer. Song of Songs uses poetic imagery to describe a genuine aspirational love; it's not perfect, but it's real. With a man (or God) who is infatuated with a woman (the Church), we learn a whole lot about the agape love: the love from a Father, Savior, King, Husband who loves you unconditionally. But, to get there, we've got to break down those barriers which stop us from fully living in it. So, if you want to get better at receiving love (from people and from God), give this podcast a listen! The Road to Revelation
Welcome to Our Favorite Bible Stories, Episode 3! Today, we are talking about a post-resurrection Jesus Who was a whole vibe! In this story, He's sneaking up on some random new friends and changing their whole perspective, bringing hope and light where despair and sadness had settled. And the beautiful thing: He didn't use huge miracles to do it (and don't get me wrong, we love those moments!). Instead, He revealed Himself over a simpleexperience that everyone person can relate to: sharing a meal. On the road to Emmaus, Jesus provides revelation. And we thank Him for that! Joseph and the Path to Destiny
Welcome back to OFBS S2, Episode 2! We thank God for consistency! And that is exactly what can be said for this week's main character: Joseph. Joseph was fighting for his life with opps on every side. Despite the chaos, flat out injustice, and despair, Joseph kept his eyes to the sky to his Helper. He lived under the awareness of God inspite of less than favorable circumstances. As our lovely guest Astrid illustrates, that waiting period for Joseph was not wasted. Instead, his character was refined and when he did step into the pathway God had for him, he was not the 17 year old child. He was a man who would direct all glory to God. I leave you with this verse: "But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." The Extraordinary in the Mundane: Moses and The Burning Bush
Welcome to Season 2 of the Our Favorite Bible Stories Podcast!!! Has it been 7 months? Yes. Does that matter? No, because I come bearing gifts! This season will be featuring guests who will discuss their favorite Bible stories! We are starting this season off with a banger as I sat down with my hilarious and insightful friend, Florence! In this first episode, we discussed Moses and the Burning Bush. But, before we can get to that iconic moment, we have to break down Moses's high moments (Zipporah, duh!) and his low moments (was he at some point a wanted felon? Yes). When it seemed that Moses was getting comfortable in obscurity, God showed up supernaturally using a mundane object; He silenced all of Moses's fears (or his excuses) and pushed him towards his destiny! This story reminds us that God can and will use anyone for His purpose. And, because He's great like that, it works out for our good as well! Our Favorite Bible Stories: 2025 Recap
Hello and welcome back to Our Favorite Bible Stories! Can you believe this is the last time I am writing this for 2025? Time does not feel real anymore. While I normally talk over a classic Bible story, today, I decided to do a recap of 2025, looking back through the stories I covered and discuss some of the new things that were introduced this year! It was fun going down memory lane and remembering the lessons God showcased through these stories. So, I hope you join me as we remember 2025! I pray blessings for a phenomenal 2026! Stories from Jesus: Parables for our Modern World
Welcome back to OFBS! In this podcast, we are delving in to some parables from the Lord Himself. One thing about my Jesus, He gonna tell a story with a lesson (AMEN)! From gratitude, to persistence to stewardship, these stories cover the difficult topics that the people during the Bible times were wrestling with. And surprise surprise, we still struggle with these things in our modern world. Thankfully, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). A word from the past is still relevant today! So grab your warm drink, cozy up with a blanket, and let's do storytime! The Absolutely Confusing but Comforting Story of Abraham
Hello and welcome to OFBS Ep 15! When I tell you this episode was so close to not coming out on time, but we serve a God who keeps His word! And that is exactly what we see in the story of Abraham. Abraham had to be the father of faith cause he was living on a prayer: no land, no home, and no child. All he had was a promise from God . Yet, that was all he needed. While Abraham was by no means perfect (especially concerning his sister-wife), God still chose him and used him. This story is poignant reminder that if God said it, He will complete it, and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Amen to that! Beautiful Serendipity (The Story of Esther)
Hey Y'all! Welcome back to OFBS! Today, we are talking about QUEEN Esther (put some respect on her name). While Esther is one of only two books named after a woman (shoutout Ruth), God's name is no where to be found in this book. But don't get it twisted; His hand is all over this story. Esther reminds us that there are no coincidences with God. He has planned out every path, every trail, and every step (and thats on Ephesians 2:10). May this episode encourage you! Even when it seems like He is not present, He is actually creating a beautiful story. Gifted Does Not Equal Invincibility (The Cautionary Tale of Sampson)
Welcome to OFBS ep 13! I took an unintended 2 month break, but we're back! Thank God! Today's episode is about the original heavyweight champion, Sampson. God set Sampson apart from the womb to pepper His enemies. Unfortunately, Sampson got a little too comfortable with his strength and forgot Who gave it to him. Spoiler alert, his story does not have the happiest of endings. But, we can learn from his life so we do not make the same mistakes. So tune into this episode: How NOT to Do Life 101! Defying the Odds, Defining the Culture (The Story of Deborah)
Welcome to OFBS Ep 12! As this episode comes out in March, which is Women's History Month, we are focusing on our good girl Deb Deb (the only female judge of the Israelites!!!) I know we love a Proverbs 31 woman, but Deborah is an iconic role model. She was strong, wise, creative, and confident. She stood on what she said and made sure the people around her stood on it too! This story is just one of the many narratives that center women. Do not let culture fool you; women are not at the bottom of the spiritual hierarchy. They are beloved just as men are. May this story impact the way you see, respect, and cherish all women!
