Sports podcasts are boring! They all talk about the same games: Football, Basketball, Baseball, Bleh. What about fascinating and unexpected sports like Hot Air Balloon Racing, Gaelic Hurling Competitions, or Dods / Death Diving? Welcome to the Offbeat Olympics Podcast Show: Your Unathletic Guide to Obscure Pastimes! We’re Josh and Caleb, two brothers who investigate unconventional forms of competition. We do some research, watch the sport in person, interview someone involved, and sometimes even jump in to try it for ourselves. This usually goes poorly. Both because neither of us are natural athletes. And because we also have no idea how to do a podcast. We have a great time making fun of each other, however. Like the time Josh’s interview questions kept getting enthusiastically interrupted by hot air balloon blasts, The moment my children drove me to the brink of a mental breakdown outside a Buc-ee’s bathroom, Or the withering side eye we got for daring to compete with the fastest speed puzzlers in the state of Alabama. Listen to learn more about things like The Schnitzelburg Dainty Contest The 19th Century Pedestrianism Craze Big League Wiffle Ball And More!
