EP 43 : Grief - a personal journey of understanding and healing
Grief is deeply personal, and each person's experience is unique. Even with the best intentions, it's easy to unintentionally say something that could hurt or minimize what someone is going through. In moments of grief, offering quiet support, listening without judgment, and being there without pushing for conversation or offering quick fixes is often the most valuable way to help. Compassionate presence, rather than words, can sometimes speak louder. In this episode, I discussed the complex and deeply personal journey of grief. I offered a reminder to those providing support to anyone grieving: it's essential to be mindful of your words, especially if you haven't experienced a similar loss. Even with the best intentions, it's easy to unintentionally say something that may not resonate with the person in pain. The most important thing is to listen, be present, and provide support without trying to offer solutions. Sometimes, simply being there is the best comfort you can offer. I promised to spell out "Rehoboth". In Genesis 26:22. Rehoboth means "room" or "broad places" and is sometimes interpreted as a place of peace or a space where there is room to flourish. The verse says, "He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, 'Now the Lord has given us room and we will flourish in the land.'"
