In the first ever episode, I talk about William Scatergood Ackley, a man who served through the ranks of the 4th New Jersey company K and grew up almost right where I did in Pittsgrove, New Jersey. His parents are buried less then a half mile from the house i grew up in, so is almost a given to be the first.
