For our Sunday morning service, we were delighted to welcome Rachel Hopkins, Pastor of Elim Church Hanley, together with her husband Sam.

Rachel shared a message entitled Where Your Eyes Rest, encouraging us to consider where our attention is focused, because where our eyes rest shapes the way we follow Jesus. Drawing from Hebrews 12:2, she reminded us to keep fixing our eyes on Jesus.

Looking at Peter’s journey, Rachel explored how easily the storms around us can become bigger in our vision, and how comparison can distract us from the path Jesus is calling us to walk.

The message also carried a powerful reminder of grace: when Peter sank, Jesus caught him; when Peter failed, Jesus restored him; and when Peter became distracted, Jesus called him again.
