Baptism Celebration
For our Sunday morning service, we were delighted to welcome Rachel Hopkins, Pastor of Elim Church Hanley, together with her husband Sam. Rachel shared a message entitled Where Your Eyes Rest, encouraging us to consider where our attention is focused, because where our eyes rest shapes the way we follow Jesus. Drawing from Hebrews 12:2, she reminded us to keep fixing our eyes on Jesus. Looking at Peter’s journey, Rachel explored how easily the storms around us can become bigger in our vision, and how comparison can distract us from the path Jesus is calling us to walk. The message also carried a powerful reminder of grace: when Peter sank, Jesus caught him; when Peter failed, Jesus restored him; and when Peter became distracted, Jesus called him again. Run your race. Swim your lane. Fix your eyes on Jesus. A thoughtful and encouraging message for anyone needing to refocus, let go of comparison, and follow where Jesus leads.
This special episode captures the joy of our baptism service at New Life Family Church, held during our regular Sunday morning gathering at 11am. In the beautiful summer sunshine, Alison, Neal, Liam, Britney, Brianna and James each shared something of their personal journey of faith before being baptised by Pastor Felicia. It was a wonderful and moving occasion as our church family gathered to celebrate their decision to follow Jesus and publicly declare their faith in him. The celebrations continued afterwards with lunch and a party in Tittensor Village Hall, providing a lovely opportunity to share food, friendship and fellowship together. “And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptised and wash your sins away, calling on his name.” — Acts 22:16 (NIV) We hope this episode encourages and inspires you as you listen to these powerful testimonies and share in this joyful moment in the life of our church.
Rob Styles brings us a timely and challenging message for Father's Day. Rob is a former senior pastor of Burton upon Trent Elim Pentecostal Church. Alongside his wife, Julie, he has many years of experience in church leadership and ministry. Throughout his ministry, Rob has been involved in pastoral care, community outreach, discipleship, and teaching. Since stepping down from his main pastoral role at Burton Elim, he has continued to contribute to Christian ministry by speaking and ministering at churches and events across the UK.
