Today’s reading takes us to 2 Chronicles 6:12–42, where Solomon dedicates the temple with a prayer built around one repeated cry: “hear from heaven.” The king kneels, marvels at the nearness of a God whom even heaven cannot contain, pleads for justice and mercy, widens his prayer beyond Israel, and asks God to receive His people when they truly return. 2 Chronicles 6 reminds us that prayer begins with dependence and rests on what God has already said. It also shows us the difference between regret and repentance: regret wants the consequences to stop, but repentance wants the rebellion to stop. So today, read 2 Chronicles 6:12–42 and let Solomon’s prayer shape yours: kneel, wonder, plead, widen, return, and rejoice in the presence of the God who still hears from heaven.
