Today’s reading takes us to Romans 2, where Paul brings the judgment of God from the cosmic level down to the personal level. He warns against the danger of hypocrisy—the kind of pretend religion that judges others while forgetting the holiness of God. The hypocrite remembers God’s kindness, forbearance, and patience, but forgets that those mercies are meant to lead us to repentance.
Romans 2 reminds us that God sees beyond appearances, weighs the motives of the heart, and judges with perfect righteousness. A pretend religion cannot save, and a seared conscience cannot guide. So today, read Romans 2 and ask the Lord to make your faith real: not outward performance, not religious pretending, but a life surrendered to His Word and shaped by true repentance.
