Good evening. New York. I'm Aaron Jolly.
That wintry mix coating windshields overnight is finally exiting stage right. About six-tenths of an inch of snow fell in the last 24 hours. And if you stepped outside early, you felt that damp chill at 34 degrees. But here's the good news. We get a break today.
In the next 24 hours. Let's start in New York City. Light rain tapers off by 4 A.M., leaving patchy fog for the early commute. Skies turn partly sunny by midday with a high of 47 degrees. Tonight, patchy fog returns as temperatures hold steady around 40.
Head north to the Capital Region and the messy mix winds down by 3 A.M. Watch for slippery spots on untreated surfaces early. Then mostly sunny skies take over with a high of 48. Tonight turns cold. Lows drop to 28 under partly cloudy skies.
