Season 3 #14-This episode comes from Reflections #0581 which was recorded on 01/31/1990. C. Herb Skoog interviews Roger Reininger, Bucky Warwick Smith and Tommy Ortiz about their time working in Landa Park as lifeguards. I am informally calling this one "several cases of beer down inside the pool."

Season 3 #13- Carroll Udo Hoffmann Tribute-We lost Mr. Hoffmann recently and wanted to do a tribute to his memory. He was an important member of the New Braunfels community as well as the Sophienburg Museum. This is from Reflections #0755 recorded on 10/13/1993, interviewed by J. C. Reagan. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends.

This comes from Reflections #623 when he was interviewed by Barron Schlameus on 5/4/1991. This includes his participation in D-Day thru the Battle of the Bulge. Albert discusses his time as he is drafted, trained and transported during WW2 leading up to D-Day. Note-this is a generic image of a WW2 soldier, not Albert Fischbeck

Season 3 episode #10-In this episode Francis Hoffmann discusses her experiences as a nurse in New Braunfels in the 1920s. This comes from Reflections #82 recorded on 9/8/78 hosted by C. Herb Skoog with Fred Oheim. I am informally calling this one "klapperschlange and an owl".

S3 episode #9- This episode comes from pieces of Reflections #0326 where C. Herb Skoog interviews Rev. C. J. Freudenberg on 7/27/1983. The Reverend had written a thesis in 1947 at Trinity University in San Antonio, Tx and he discusses parts of that thesis relating to Native Americans and the Meusebach treaty. This episode touches on several things noted in this year's winner of the Myra Lee Adams Goff Sophienburg Award. This award is given every year to an essay author about the history of the area. This year's winner is Jaelynn Davidson. I am calling this episode-"the one treaty."

S3#8-In this episode C. Herb Skoog interviews Pearl Playdell Bouverie from Reflections #314 on 3/17/1983. Pearl Bouverie ("Lady Pearl") was born in London, England and lived a version similar to the TV show "Downton Abbey.": The thumbnail is from her home Palace House at Beaulieu near Soouthampton. It is open to the public and you can visit it. She started coming to Texas in 1955 and did so repeatedly for almost 30 years. She considered Texas her second home. I am informally calling this one "one copes, you know, one grows with it."

Season 3 episode #7-This podcast on the "free thinkers/frei denker" comes from Reflections #2 with Valeska Startz on 12/19/76, from Reflections #22 with Martha Borne on 02/24/77 and from Reflections #43 with Sida Streuer on 08/03/77. All three were interviewed by C. Herb Skoog with Fred Oheim. I am informally calling this one: "A metaphor for a podcast"

Season 3 #5 "Schuetzen Verein"
S3#5-In this episode C. Herb Skoog interviews Donald Rahe, Kermit Greebon, and August Schulze on 9/30/1982 from Reflections #294. They discuss the "Schuetzen Verein" that was established in 1849 here in New Braunfels, Tx. the thumbnail picture, I believe, is a very old flag sew for the Schuetzen Verein. Reflections #294 contains another 30+ minutes about the Schuetzen Verein.
