Canucks vs Oilers | Postgame | Rusty 'n Dusty | 16 goals of Chaos

Dustin Boydell joins Russell Holiday to break down an absolute barnburner and fever dream at Rogers Arena as the Vancouver Canucks fall 9–7 to the Edmonton Oilers in a wild 16-goal home opener. The boys start off by reviewing a chaotic contest that saw Edmonton jump out to an 8–2 lead before the Canucks mounted a valiant four-goal third-period comeback that ultimately fell just short. They dive into Kevin Lankinen’s rough night between the pipes, a brutal pair of shorthanded goals allowed on the same man advantage, and the contrasting play of the forwards, highlighting Elias Pettersson’s vintage performance with a goal, two assists, eight hits, and stitches in his lip alongside a two-goal effort from Marco Rossi. As well, they chat about Arshdeep Bains beating the buzzer with 0.1 seconds left in the second period, Jamie Oleksiak scoring his first as a Canuck, and Leevi Meriläinen providing steady relief in net.

Then Rusty 'n Dusty get into the fallout of early-season panic, the defensive miscues from Filip Hronek and Tom Willander, and why Brendan Gallagher’s costly early penalty likely punches his ticket to the press box. They analyze Connor McDavid’s five-point performance, question Edmonton’s complete lack of depth beyond their top guns, and look at the underlying 5-on-5 possession metrics that suggest Vancouver controlled large stretches of the latter half of the game. Lastly, the boys preview a massive four-game streaming weekend, including an exclusive chat with Abbotsford Canucks play-by-play voice Brandon Astle, before teeing up Saturday’s showdown against Dustin Wolf and the Calgary Flames.

If you are sick of Luke Gazdic's poor analysis during the intermission, if you are looking for someone to banter with during the game and if you want to meet a bunch of crazy hockey fans then this stream is the one for you. There will be mayhem in chat so make sure you say hello when you stop by.
