Canucks vs Oilers | Postgame | Rusty 'n Dusty | Chaos Reigns in OT Victory

Dustin Boydell joins Russell Holiday to break down an absolute barnburner as the Vancouver Canucks open the regular season with a thrilling 6–5 overtime victory over the Edmonton Oilers. The boys start off by reviewing a chaotic season opener that had a little bit of everything, from Evan Bouchard netting a five-point and a hattrick to questionable officiating putting the penalty kill through the ringer. They dive into the explosive three-goal surge in the first five minutes of the third period featuring tallies from Jonathan Lekkerimäki, Max Sasson, and a power-play deflection from EP40, before Paul Cotter capped off a monster two-goal night with the overtime winner on a relentless forechecking feed from Sasson. As well, they chat about former Canuck Vasily Podkolzin haunting his old team with a two-goal performance, Kevin Lankinen standing tall under a 37-shot barrage, and the steady defensive minutes logged by Filip Hronek and Jamie Oleksiak.

Then Rusty 'n Dusty get into the tactical adjustments Manny Malhotra will look for on the flight back home ahead of Thursday's rematch at Rogers Arena. They discuss the need to stay out of the penalty box against Edmonton's lethal power play, praise Elias Pettersson's bounce-back effort in the face-off circle after winning both draws against Connor McDavid, and break down Tom Willander's defensive learning curve. Lastly, the boys joke about the Canucks sitting tied for first place in the NHL standings, pick their three stars of the night, and look ahead to the home opener rematch against McDavid and the Oilers in Vancouver.

If you are sick of Luke Gazdic's poor analysis during the intermission, if you are looking for someone to banter with during the game and if you want to meet a bunch of crazy hockey fans then this stream is the one for you. There will be mayhem in chat so make sure you say hello when you stop by.
