Today I’m joined by Liz, The Birth Historian, who takes us back to the 1930s and 40s, through the birth of the NHS, and into the maternity systems we know today.

We explore how childbirth was experienced before widespread medicalisation, what changed when the NHS was introduced, and what may have been lost along the way.
