We are revisiting the Feral Funeral

Episode 25— Hey MFers “Two Girls and a Feral Funeral” In this episode of Mom’s Favorite, Cassidy and Kim unpack the emotional rollercoaster that was the recent funeral of Cassidy’s grandmother, Frances Knopf. From heartfelt memories to family dysfunction that could rival a daytime soap, nothing is off-limits. They reflect on the good (stories about Nanny Fran that still make them laugh), the bad (awkward encounters and unspoken tension), and the ugly. But through the chaos, there’s a glimmer of hope — Cassidy and Kim share their honest thoughts on forgiveness, healing, and the dream of rebuilding what’s been broken. It’s real, it’s raw, and it’s a reminder that family is messy — but sometimes, mess is where the love lives. Listen now for: A tribute to Frances Knopf’s fierce spirit What not to say at a family gathering Dreams of reconciliation… and reality checks How funerals bring people together — and sometimes tear them apart Let’s connect: 📸 Instagram: @momsfavoritepodcast 📩 Email: momsfavoritepodcast@gmail.com 🎧 Listen & follow wherever you get your podcasts #MomsFavoritePodcast #NewPodcastAlert #MotherDaughter #CassidyAndKim #PodcastLaunch #FamilyBanter #RealTalk Shody Media LLC Production https://www.shodymedia.com/ Produced by Jordan Canon, Shelly Silvey Grabe and Jody Silvey Wynn Music By The Red Collective. Catch Upsidedown

Episode 24— This week on Mom’s Favorite, Cassidy is hosting solo — but she’s not alone. She’s joined by her husband, David, for a cozy, no-agenda catch-up episode. They chat about what they’ve been up to lately, the TV shows currently running their lives, and the reality that Christmas is approaching fast — along with that final week of school when kids completely abandon all structure and common sense. It’s casual, funny, and very relatable. Perfect for folding laundry, sitting in carpool, or hiding from the holiday chaos for a few minutes. Thanks for listening — and don’t forget to follow Mom’s Favorite so you never miss an episode. Keep Austin Limber

Episode 23— This week on Mom’s Favorite, Kim sits down with the one and only Bob Rice — better known around Austin as Stretchy Bob. He’s a stretch therapist, mobility magician, and the founder of HomeStretch ATX, where he travels to people’s homes all over Austin to help them feel loose, limber, and significantly less crunchy. Kim and Bob dive into: ✨ How he became “Stretchy Bob” in the first place ✨ What really happens during a stretch therapy session ✨ Why mobility matters more than any of us want to admit ✨ The magic of in-home stretch work for busy parents, athletes, and everyday Austin folks ✨ How stretching can make you feel younger, lighter, and way less like you woke up shaped like a question mark You’ll laugh, you’ll learn, and you may suddenly realize your hamstrings have been plotting revenge for years. If you’re in Austin and want to feel like a rejuvenated version of yourself, check out HomeStretch ATX and let Bob bring his stretch expertise straight to your doorstep. Thankful AF

Episode 22— In this Thanksgiving episode, Kim and Cassidy are skipping the generic gratitude lists and getting oddly specific about what they’re thankful for this year. We’re talking the random little joys, the hyper-specific comforts, and the unexpected things that make life easier, funnier, and way more interesting. Of course, we sprinkle in some real heart too—because it wouldn’t be Mom’s Favorite without a mix of chaos and feelings. We also dive into all the reasons we’re extra thankful for Austin: the food, the music, the sunshine, the vibes… and the guarantee that every time you leave the house, you’ll witness something completely off-the-wall, yet somehow you’re never surprised. It’s just part of the charm. In this episode: 🦃 Weirdly specific gratitude lists 😂 Mild unhinged energy 💛 Real moments of reflection 🌮 Austin appreciation ✨ Holiday vibes, Mom’s Favorite style Grab a snack (preferably carb-forward), settle in, and celebrate Thanksgiving with us—one oddly specific blessing at a time. Shelly Grabe: All Gas, No Breaks

Episode 21— In today’s episode, Kim sits down with one of her very best friends of nearly two decades — the unstoppable, unfiltered, Energizer-bunny-in-human-form… Shelly. If you’ve ever wondered who’s responsible for Mom’s Favorite existing, look no further. Shelly is the original brain behind the podcast, the woman who pitched it, pushed it, and pretty much willed it into existence. She and her sister run the production company behind the show, which basically makes her the Podcast Godfather — the Podfather — minus the crime family, plus a lot more coffee. Kim and Shelly dive into: ✨ Their 18-year friendship and its most iconic moments ✨ Their bond as autism moms and how that shaped their sisterhood ✨ Shelly’s endless energy and giver-of-all-givers personality ✨ How Mom’s Favorite actually came to be ✨ Why everyone needs a Shelly in their life This episode is equal parts heart, laughter, chaos, and pure best-friend magic. If you love stories about lifelong friendships and the women behind the scenes making big things happen — this one’s for you. A Well-Timed Emergency?

Episode 20 — This week’s episode of Mom’s Favorite is a wild one! Kim and Cassidy sit down to talk about a recent health scare that Egon went through — lovingly described as a “near-death-but-not-exactly” experience. Thankfully, Egon is totally fine now (we promise!), but it was one of those moments that makes you stop, breathe, and remember how fragile life can feel sometimes. We’re sharing what happened, how it changed our perspective, and how humor and gratitude got us through it — because if you can’t laugh after a crisis, what can you do? Pammy Out Loud in the House

Episode 19— This week on Mom’s Favorite, Kim is joined by her friend and fellow podcaster, the one and only Pam Walsh. Pam is equal parts glam, grit, and “I said what I said” — and that’s why we adore her. In this candid conversation, Kim and Pam talk about: • Navigating family life and motherhood • Raising a child with special needs and the emotional realness that comes with it • Finding your voice (even when other people aren’t ready for it) • The leap of faith it takes to start something new — especially in the public eye • And yes… mahjong makes a surprise appearance 🀄️ Pam shows up with humor, honesty, sparkly energy, and all the opinions — and trust us, you’ll want to hear every single one. So grab your drink, grab a moment to yourself, and let’s get into this one. ✨ ⸻ Connect with Pam: Instagram: @pammy_outloud Join the “Pammy Outloud” Facebook group. Not THAT Kind Of Karen

Episode 18— On this episode of Mom’s Favorite, Cassidy introduces us to her other half — her work wife💅, Karen. Karen’s a born-and-raised Austinite🤠, a proud mom, and the ultimate ride-or-die Medical Assistant who somehow keeps Cassidy in line (most days). They chat about growing up in old-school Austin, raising families, and a lifelong career in women's health🩺. They dive into the unique friendship that forms when you spend 40+ hours a week together in the trenches, and what it means to find your person at work — the one who laughs with you, vents with you, and knows your breakfast order by heart. 💬✨ So grab your headphones🎧, turn up the volume, and get ready to fall in love with Karen — because she might just be Mom’s Favorite, too.💖 Disclaimer: Podcasts featured on Shody Media are independently owned and operated by their respective hosts. Tales from a Former L&D Nurse: Part 2 - The Pitt

Episode 16 — This week, Cassidy is flying solo for another installment of Tales from a Former L&D Nurse — and this time, she’s scrubbing in for TV duty. She’s reacting to The Pitt, Season 1, Episode 11 — the one with that birth scene. You know, the shoulder dystocia, the postpartum hemorrhage, and enough dramatic music to rival a Marvel movie. As a former Labor & Delivery nurse, Cassidy’s seen the real thing — and let’s just say, this episode didn’t exactly pass the chart audit. From what The Pitt nailed to what made her yell “that’s not how any of this works!” at her TV, this one’s equal parts educational and unhinged. Because while The Pitt might be the most medically accurate show on TV… the birth scene? Yeah, not so much. So grab your sense of humor and maybe an emotional support peri bottle — we’re breaking down how Hollywood delivers babies (spoiler: badly). In this episode: 💉 Cassidy reacts to The Pitt’s birth scene 👶 What shoulder dystocia really looks like in L&D 🩸 How postpartum hemorrhage is handled in real life 🎬 Why TV can’t resist turning birth into a trauma plot 😂 Plus, some unfiltered nurse commentary — because old habits die hard Disclaimer: Podcasts featured on Shody Media are independently owned and operated by their respective hosts.
