Manifesto Radio Ep21 - Guest: Hector Bravo
Hector Bravo served in the United States Army as an Infantryman. He deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom II in 2004. He conducted combat operations consisting of raids, capturing high-value targets, and direct contact with enemy forces. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, he joined the California Department of Corrections with over sixteen years of experience. Joining the Department at twenty-two years of age in 2006, his first assignment was a maximum and medium security institution. During his eight years as a Correctional Officer, he experienced numerous incidents ranging from riots, assaults on staff, and murders. Throughout his career, he has been involved in over 500 incidents applying many force options to quell the violence. In 2014 he was promoted to Correctional Sergeant, and in 2017 promoted to the rank of Correctional Lieutenant. He has served on the Tactical Response Team as a certified Tactical Operator and Hostage Negotiator. He would later become the Tactical Commander. He applies leadership lessons acquired during his time in the Army. He believes a successful leader must focus on mission success and troop welfare to get the job done and build future leaders. He has a strong sense of morals, values, and honor and lives by a code of ethics. He is passionate about mentoring others and believes he owes it to his brothers-in-arms killed in action to repay the favor of "showing the new kids the ropes.”
Manifesto Radio Ep20- Guest: Greg Walsh
Greg Walsh is a writer, martial artist, critical thinker, and teacher, and is responsible for the Wolf Brigade brand of training and maces. Over the past twenty years, he has focused on building the most capable and provable ‘Expert Generalist’ athletes possible, and is just getting started. Greg has long been the preeminent engineer of detail-driven, heavy, and gimmick-free kettlebell and mace lifting, and integrates the concepts and movements into some of the most effective programs and processes in the entire strength industry. He has worked with the UFC Performance Institute, Special Operations units of the military, branches of Law Enforcement on both coasts, and SWAT teams throughout New York State, as well as teaching at and consulting with several D1 universities. Greg works with both professional athletes and many nice, normal people on a daily basis, and all are provided the same level of detail, direction, and respect. Wolf Brigade is headquartered in Rochester, New York with a Chapter in Toronto, Ontario, and dedicated, progress-minded Agents around the world.

With over 16 years of operational experience, Bernardo is a subject matter expert (SME) in the field of Counter Terrorism (CT) and security best practices. His expertise covers high-risk police tactics, special operations (SOF), dignitary protection (CP) and close quarters battle (CQB). Bernardo recently retired from active duty in a Special Operations unit of the Border Police, focusing on direct action and low visibility operations. He has served as a Federal Air Marshal, Personal Bodyguard to the Chief of Staff (IDF), Combat instructor and Counter Assault Team member to the Israeli Dignitary Protection Unit. Between direct action missions in the IDF, Border Police, aviation security, dignitary protection assignments and other deployments on behalf of the Israeli Security Establishment, he has hundreds of operational missions in his background. For more than 10 years Bernardo mentored youth as the founder and director of Team of Warriors, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping minorities and at-risk youth, unlocking their leadership potential through excellence in military service. In 2021 Bernardo joined the Tactical Fitness Team, an Austin, TX based company as Director of Operations and head of the Law Enforcement and Close Protection consulting department. He is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS International as well as a Certified Active Shooter Response Instructor with the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center (ALERRT). Javier Cabral is the Editor-in-Chief for James Beard Award-winning L.A. TACO. Associate Producer for James Beard Award-winning Las Crónicas Del Taco. He is the former restaurant scout for Jonathan Gold (the only food critic ever to win a Pulitzer award). And also the co-Author of “Oaxaca: Home Cooking From the Heart of Mexico (2019) and “Asada: The Art of Mexican-Style Grilling” (2023). He is currently a guest professor at USC, teaching a Tijuana Food, Art, and Culture class.

"CICUTA" is a Mexican Metal band that, over the years, has grown its reputation nationally and now internationally, becoming part of the list of the best Mexican bands. In "Headbangers Latinoamérica," they managed to position themselves with their album "En Boca De Lobos" as one of the top 200 albums in Latin America just two weeks after its release. CICUTA has become part of the lineup of the most important festivals in Latin America and the United States, such as the 10th anniversary of "Hell And Heaven Metal Fest," "Knotfest Meets Forcefest," "Fronterizo Fest," among others. The band has had the opportunity to perform alongside artists such as Sepultura, Mastodon, Deep Purple, Gojira, Philip Anselmo (Pantera), Max & Igor Cavalera, Amon Amarth, Megadeth, King Diamond, Cypress Hill, among many others. Proudly hailing from Tijuana, CICUTA represents our beloved city, as it is the only local Metal band to have reached festivals of such caliber, turning the spotlight on the art in our region and opening doors to new opportunities for artistic growth.

"The Warmaster" Josh Barnett, is once the youngest UFC Champion in history and is still the youngest UFC Heavyweight champion of all time. Josh started on the path to fighting after watching UFC 2 on a tape in 1994 and saw the sport of MMA (of as it was called back then, No Holds Barred NHB) as the highest level of competition one could do and his childhood fantasies of Bloodsport, Street Fighter II, and Pro Wrestling come to life. Trained in Catch Wrestling and Shoot Wrestling primarily, Josh has trained under many great masters with great success in winning titles all around the world. Barnett is a professional wrestler as well with a lineage to Antonio Inoki, Billy Robinson, and Karl Gotch. Josh Debuted in 2002 for New Japan Pro Wrestling, taking on Yuki Nagata for the IWGP heavyweight championship and has been Pro Wrestling now for 21 years, even creating his own show, Josh Barnett's: Bloodsport along the way. Outside of MMA and Pro Wrestling, Josh puts time into hobbies like Musclecars, firearms, and acting. Gerry Perez began his professional career in the United States Marine Corps in 2002 as the ammunition chief for an infantry battalion. After two deployments to Iraq in 2005 & 2006, Gerry joined the Los Angeles Police Department and worked a multitude of assignments during 10 years of active-duty service, including a city-wide task force. Gerry currently works full time in the private security sector for a high-net worth family as the training director for a team of 20+ agents. Vincent Perez is a Marine Corps Infantryman turned medic. Most recently he took the Sneak Reaper mindset into Ukraine to provide training and support to front line military and civilians. Over the two months he spent in Ukraine, Vince developed tailored courses to help educate over 5,000 Ukrainians on austere medical management, trauma care, counter custody, and weaponology. He currently works as an International Executive Protection Agent, and he is frequently part of Ed's training Cadre for classes.
