Having fled Saul's murderous rage against him, David meets up with Jonathan. They conspire to learn if Saul has dropped his vendetta against David. Sadly he has not, even trying to kill his own son, Jonathan for befriending David. As they meet for the final time, David learns of Saul's intentions to stop at nothing to kill him. In desperation, David allows fear and doubt to cloud judgement.
