Most people pray to God to give them peace. Yes, grace and peace come from God (Philemon 1:3). But Peter linked our peace to the knowledge we have (2 Pt. 1:2-4). When we are in communion with the Lord, the knowledge He imparts to us gives us a peace that seems unnatural to those who don’t have the benefit of God’s perspective. This peace isn’t automatic or without effort on our part. If we don’t take advantage of God’s knowledge, which comes primarily through His Word (2 Pt. 1:4), then this peace won’t manifest in our lives. God's Word tells us that as we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, all the natural things that we need, will be simply added to us (Mt. 6:33).
