Ephesians 4:12-16
Jobey McGinty
We often drift toward two unhealthy instincts with church leadership. Some expect pastors to do all the ministry while everyone else watches. Others have seen leadership abused and assume authority in the church can only lead to control or disappointment. But Ephesians 4:12-16 shows something better. Christ, the true Shepherd, gives leaders to equip His people so the whole body grows together in truth, love, and maturity. Pastors are not CEOs or owners of the church. They are stewards under Jesus, called to teach the Word, care for souls, and help every believer take part in the work of ministry.
