Orwell Was Wrong: It's a Glove, Not a Boot | OVERNIGHT OPINIONS
I have shocking news… literally. According to a DHS contract, the agency is purchasing $10-$20 million of the CTG-5 G.L.O.V.E. Glove is an anagram, standing for Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter. The requisition order describes it as a conductive distraction and de-escalation device. It will be issued to Homeland Security Investigations (H.S.I.) and Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO) officers and agents. The devices will be delivered by March 31 of next year. We don’t know yet how many they’re ordering, how much each pair of gloves cost, or when they will be implemented. These GLOVES are set to be acquired by ICE and are expected to help with their raids, apprehensions, and goal to capture 2,000 immigrants a day. But do we really want officers walking around electrodes on their hands? *** Thanks for listening to Overnight Opinions, a recurring news show on topics the mainstream media isn’t telling you.
