First Things First|Pastor Dave|"Choose to Be Generous" Wk2

It’s normally used to assert that important matters should be dealt with before other things. It is a step back to make sure that the top priority stays the top priority. One of the areas that can easily fall prey to operating without the top priority in mind is our finances. This series is our opportunity to look at God’s generous heart and how we can walk in that manner. Being generous is more than just giving, it’s a mindset that truly comes from the heart. In scripture we see God take little and make much of it. Jesus also said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Generosity is a blessing and is in the heart of God, and so it should also be in the hearts of His people. How has God been generous to you? What are some ways you can be more generous? This is the series where we’ll explore the heart God has for giving and how we play a part in the kingdom through it.

Wild Goose|Pastor Dave|"Stirred, not Shaken" Wk3

When bird symbolism is used in Christianity, the most popular one is that of a Dove symbolizing the Holy Spirit. We hear words like “gentle” and “calm” in connection to doves and we think of the Spirit of God in that way. But many may not know that years ago, Celtic Christians had an intriguing name for the Holy Spirit that lent toward a different bird; perhaps an unexpected animal. They called the Holy Spirit An Geadh-Glas, or “the Wild Goose.” The name hints at the mysterious nature of the Holy Spirit. Much like a wild goose, the Spirit of God cannot be tracked or tamed. With Him, there seems to be an air of unpredictability. At times, the Holy Spirit can be like a dove leading us to a place of stillness and peace. What I find often, He’s rambunctious as a goose — wresting us from our sedentary ways, disturbing the status quo, and injecting the fire of God’s love into our lives.

Easter|Pastor Dave|Jesus Still Shows Up

One event changed everything. It changed the course of history. It can change our lives. More than 2,000 years ago Jesus miraculously rose from the dead. Two centuries later, His resurrection is still radically changing lives: healing to the broken, peace to the restless, and hope to the hopeless. Join us this Easter at Kfirst as we celebrate the resurrection power of Jesus.
