KFDM Sports Extra | Week 5: New Top 6 + WOS-Carthage State Title Rematch
Mike Friedman and Cam Sanderson break down a changing Southeast Texas high school football Top 6 and preview a loaded Week 5 on the KFDM Sports Extra podcast. East Chambers enters both rankings after improving to 4-0 while averaging nearly 34 points per game. Mike has the Buccaneers at No. 6, while Cam also puts them sixth and drops previously unbeaten Orangefield from his rankings following a close loss to LCM. Cam also moves Nederland into his Top 6 following the Bulldogs' upset victory over Fort Bend Crawford. After starting 0-2, Nederland has now produced consecutive impressive wins over Silsbee and Crawford. Cam calls the Bulldogs the area's “most improved team” from Week 1 through Week 4. Meanwhile, PNG falls out of both rankings after dropping to 1-3. At the top, Port Arthur Memorial takes over Cam's No. 1 spot, joining Mike in putting the Titans first. Memorial is averaging nearly 42 points per game after dominating Galveston Ball. Week 5 features West Orange-Stark vs. Carthage in a rematch of last year's state championship game, undefeated East Chambers vs. undefeated Buna, LCM vs. Vidor, Bridge City vs. Lumberton, PNG at Santa Fe and undefeated Hamshire-Fannett at Hitchcock.
